Caroline Redman Lusher, author of SING The Story of Rock Choir becomes an MBE!

Splendid Publications is delighted to celebrate Caroline Redman Lusher, author of SING: The Story of Rock Choir, who has been named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King's New Year Honours — recognised for her outstanding achievement in music and her significant contribution to charity.

As Founder and Creative Director of Rock Choir, Caroline built something the UK didn't know it needed: a choir with no auditions, no sheet music, and no barriers to entry. Her vision was simple — an accessible, inclusive space where people from all walks of life could sing contemporary songs together, with no previous experience required. Since founding Rock Choir in 2005, that idea has grown into a genuine national phenomenon, now bringing together over 30,000 members across 400 locations in the UK and Ireland.

Caroline has been quick to share the credit, speaking of feeling overwhelmed and thrilled by the honour and thanking her team and the tens of thousands of ‘Rockies’ who take part each week. The recognition places her among extraordinary company — it sits alongside the achievements of figures such as The Beatles, Adele, and Ed Sheeran.
