Caroline Redman Lusher accepts her MBE from King Charles at Buckingham Palace and shares her special day with the Rockies!

Caroline Redman Lusher — Founder and Creative Director of Rock Choir, and author of SING: The Story of Rock Choir — travelled to Buckingham Palace to formally receive her MBE at an Investiture ceremony, recognising her outstanding achievement in music and her significant contribution to charity.

It was, by any measure, a once-in-a-lifetime day. But true to form, Caroline didn't keep it to herself. She shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of the ceremony with her wider Rock Choir community — the very people whose voices, energy and loyalty helped build the movement that earned her this recognition in the first place.

Caroline has always spoken about her MBE as something that belongs to more than just her. She's credited her team and thanked the tens of thousands of the British public — the wonderful Rockies — who take part in Rock Choir each week for making the whole journey possible. So it felt fitting that, even on such a personal and prestigious occasion, she chose to bring several members of her choir family along with her, also sharing photos and moments from the Palace grounds so that Rockies everywhere could feel part of the day too.

For a community built on turning up together, week after week, in village halls and community centres across the UK and Ireland, that gesture mattered. It was a reminder that the MBE, while awarded to one woman, reflects a story written by thousands.

For the Rockies who've sung alongside Caroline for years — some since the very earliest days in 2005 — watching her walk through the Palace gates felt like a shared triumph. It's a moment that captures exactly what Rock Choir has always been about: ordinary people, brought together by music, achieving something extraordinary — together.

Congratulations again, Caroline. Buckingham Palace may have hosted the ceremony, but the Rockies were there with you in every sense that matters.
