Yet Here I Am author Deborah Binner talks to the Huff Post about finding happiness after the loss of her husband Simon Binner

When Deborah Binner’s beloved husband died, just 18 months after they lost their precious daughter Chloe to cancer, she thought her world had come to an end. Simon was just 54, an alpha male with a charismatic, dynamic personality who adored his family and made life an adventure. His passing left a huge, gaping hole in Deborah’s life and she was bereft.

“Immediately after Simon’s death, I felt numb and didn’t really engage with the world,” she tells the Huff Post. “I’ve read this is nature’s way of protecting a person from the profound grief they’re experiencing.”

As she describes in her book Yet Here I Am, Deborah was left with two choices: continue spiralling into despair or accept life had changed forever and find a way to start living again. She chose the latter and while it still isn’t easy, she has discovered a different sort of happiness for herself. Read Deborah’s full story here.
